When our movie A Hospital in the Pines received an award, it brought back so many memories from three years ago. Andrew Elizaga and I went to the Philippines in 2013 for the first time with Go-Med medical organization and I was photographing for two weeks in Baguio General hospital. Next year we decided to make a documentary about the people who use their vacation time and their own funds to work in the hospital and perform surgeries for locals who can not afford medical care.  Looking through the photographs I managed to take between filming surgeries and interviews I felt great compassion and hope. It is all about us, people of this planet, and our desire to help others. We were told that after watching our documentary many people decided to volunteer for next missions!
